Smoothness of Dimming

When used with trailing edge dimmers the visual performance of this lamp was excellent with no flicker observed at any output level. Slight steps were observed in dimming profile but these were not large enough to be a significant problem. The majority of the dimming occurred between 60% and 80% of the Rako channel output so this will need to be taken into account when setting scenes.

When tested with a single bulb on leading edge the bulb did not turn off. This is a minimum load problem solved by putting an axial resistor across the dimmer output. As only one bulb was provided for testing it is not possible to provide an accurate estimate of the minimum number of bulbs required when an leading edge dimmer was used.
