Smoothness of Dimming
This lamp performed well overall despite only dimming to a minimum of 5% from off. With both leading and trailing edge dimmers the lamp has no considerable flicker at any output level, there was also no 50Hz strobe observed. The dimming profile was heavily grouped in the bottom 50% of the output range and some small steps were observed when fading from off to full with both dimmers. Also with trailing edge when turned from off to a very low level the lamps came on inconsistently.
Lamp makes audible noise when dimmed with trailing and leading edge dimmers. The noise is more noticeable when used with trailing edge. However with neither dimmer is the buzz likely to be loud enough to be a problem when installed.
The low maximum number of units advised for the rmt500 and rak4-t is due to the inconsistency when turned on at a low dimming level. For all other applications the maximum number can be considered to be 20.
