Smoothness of Dimming

Visually this lamp performed very well with all dimmers it was tested with. It dimmed well below 1% of maximum output and no flicker, shimmer or strobe was seen at any output level. The only area of criticism is that there was a noticeable step in the dimming profile at around 20% of maximum output when tested with trailing edge dimmers. Aside from this step the profile was smooth and the relationship between dimmer output and light output was continuous and broadly linear.

Audible Noise

No audible noise when used with any dimmer

Notes

The RML500 can be only be rated as "Good" despite visual performance in the "Very good" range. This is because of the high peak currents observed dictating that a maximum of only 8 lamps can be advised per dimmer.
