Smoothness of Dimming

While these fittings only dimmed to between 8-10% of maximum output they did so with no flicker or 50Hz strobe observed with either leading or trailing edge dimmers. With trailing edge dimmers there were no steps visible in the dimming profile but all the dimming was grouped in the bottom 40% of the dimmer output. When tested with leading edge dimmers significant steps were noticeable in the dimming profile and the dimmer output was roughly proportional to light output.

No audible noise when used with any dimmer

Notes

These lamps dimmed better with trailing edge in general. While the dimming quality was excellent with trailing edge a "good" classifications is given as the lamps only dim to around 10% of maximum output. These lamps can be considered "excellent" when trailing edge is used and low level dimming is not required.
